This is me!

I started my working career in Food and Beverages at the age of 18, first bartending, then managing bars and restaurants in my home town, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In 2007, my life was not going the way that I wanted, and decided to change the course of it and came to sea. Went also back to my roots and got a job as a bartender in a mainstream cruise line. My first contract took me from San Francisco, CA to Alaska, then across the Aleutian Islands to Russia, Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and then going south along Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, Tasmania, and across the Tasman Sea to New Zealand. And that was only during 6 months!

I was hooked up. Did it for 5 years and had a lot of fun. Also, decided that the ocean was going to be my home. And still is.

Changed jobs a couple of times until I found the company that I wanted to work for, in the position I always dreamed about. My job is to inspire and inform my guests, for them to select their next cruise. This means that I have to be always on top of new itineraries, ports, and of course gastronomic traditions of the places that I visit.

I’m always in seek for the food that the locals eat every day. My perfect day is when I visit a food market, and eat right there. One of my favorite lines is: “When in Rome, do what the Romans”.

I collect fountain pens, and cufflinks. due to my job I have to dress well, and I love it. I’m a big fan of Corto Maltese, a comic character created by the Italian artist Hugo Pratt who was a traveler himself, and placed the adventures of Corto in the original backgrounds where he went, and when I can I try to follow his steps too.

I’ve been around the world a couple of times, but this the first time I’m going to log, consistently about it. Get ready for the adventure!
